Testing in production

This post marks the official launch (or relaunch?) of the website! I’ve rebuilt most of the site, and it’s finally at a point where I can put it live. The shop has been simplified—now focused solely on subscriptions and expansions. That feels cleaner and should reduce confusion.
I’ve also done a fair amount of mobile work, enough that playtesting should be viable. So, here we are—launching the site (minus registration, for now).
Is it ready?
Probably not. But…
It’s just me doing all of this—design, development, and QA. Doing those things together is never ideal; you go code-blind pretty quickly on big projects. I’m sure that’s happened here to some degree.
What does work well, though, is using the site like a regular user. The more I use it across different devices, the more bugs I catch. So, for now, QA will be more reactive than proactive.
I’m pretty happy with how it looks and feels overall. I spent a lot of time tightening up the homepage and about page—they’re key for getting clickthroughs, especially as a new game trying to stand out.
This is a short post. Honestly, it mostly exists so the blog has more than one entry for testing. But hey—you made it to the end. Why? Bored? You okay?
I’ll find something better to write about next time.
